First Library Card

I remember getting my first library card and having to sign my name on it. I loved the book checkout at the public library back in the 1970s.  There was a machine that took a picture of the book title and your library card at the same time. It had a distinct sound when the librarian pressed the button to take the picture.

I love The Raven by Poe. I try to read it every other year or so around Halloween. Being from Minnesota I find the above cartoon amusing.
